Transient flow analysis on liquid transportation pipelines

  • Characteristic method is adopted to solve a mathematical model consisted of continuity Equation, momentum equation and energy equation for transient flow of liquid pipelines, and characteristic equation's difference quotient equation is obtained with explicit characteristic difference method and analytical solution for every parameter of pipelines at transient flow.Numerical simulation on start-up condition of centrifugal pump is made.Result shows that the method presented for solving the mathematical model is achievable.
