Abstract
Suitable conditions of equations about Colebrook-White, Panhandtl and Panhandle, etc. in calculating friction coefficient of turbulent zone are analyzed and comparison on wide applied Colebrook-White equation with other equations are carried out. Based on experimental data, actual friction coefficient of West-to-East Gas Transmission Pipeline are backcalculated with Colebrook-White equation. Comparison and analysis results show that within the researched flowrate scope, the rate of actual friction coefficient decreased with the increase of Reynolds number is greater than Colebrook-White equation's, while its variation tendency is similar to that of Panhandtl and Panhandle(A), and within the whole flowrate scope, simulation error from Panhandle(A) for the pipeline is minimum. New equation for GERE friction coefficient is presented and compared with Colebrook-White equation.
