Application of Ballasting Bags In Anchoring of Large-diameter Pipelines

External-wall concrete-covered pipe technique and polypropylene ballasting bag technique are introduced, and economy comparison is carried out between actual cases of the two techniques. Comparison results show that polypropylene ballasting bag technique is superior over the external -wall concrete-covered pipe technique. The former can be used in every type of terrainswith characteristics of short construction period, simple installation and low costs. It is considered that the technique provides a solution in anchoring of oil and gas pipelines.
