Analysis of Pressure Change in Oil Product Pipeline during Shut-down Period

In allusion to the phenomena of pressure decrease in several oil product pipelines after shutting down, influence of oil temperature and pipeline's terrain on the pressure of pipeline shut-down are discussed and analysis is made based on field data of West Oil Product Pipeline. A mathematical model which takes terrain factors into account to calculate temperature and pressure drop of oil product pipeline in shut-down period is established, pressure change induced by oil stolen and leakage in shut-down period is simulated and comparison and analysis are made between the pressure change and the temperature and pressure drop of the pipeline shut-down. Pressure maintaining program in shut-down period for West Oil Product Pipeline are set up based on the analysis and calculation result.
