Analysis of Pressure Change in Oil Product Pipeline during Shut-down Period

  • In allusion to the phenomena of pressure decrease in several oil product pipelines after shutting down, influence of oil temperature and pipeline's terrain on the pressure of pipeline shut-down are discussed and analysis is made based on field data of West Oil Product Pipeline. A mathematical model which takes terrain factors into account to calculate temperature and pressure drop of oil product pipeline in shut-down period is established, pressure change induced by oil stolen and leakage in shut-down period is simulated and comparison and analysis are made between the pressure change and the temperature and pressure drop of the pipeline shut-down. Pressure maintaining program in shut-down period for West Oil Product Pipeline are set up based on the analysis and calculation result.
