Application of E-field Inductive Technology in Leakage Detection of Tanks

  • The paper introduces the principle, implementation method, data analysis and application field of E-field inductive technology including its application in leakage detection of tanks. Detection on inductive signal level for different medium displays that the detector manufactured based on E-field inductive principle is sensitive to give off alarm of flowing water, engine oil, diesel, kerosene and gasoline if leak occurs, which can be used to detect corrosion leakage of tanks applied in petroleum and petrochemistry industries. Laboratory experiments on temperature rise, temperature drop, vapor humidity and soakage are carried out which show the stabilitvy of the detector. Field data monitoring on a gasoline tank of some refinery is made and accurate results are obtained.
