Wall Thickness Design of Elbow for Steel Pipeline of Natural Gas

Current gas pipeline standards states that δ, the wall thickness of elbow, is a calculated wall thickness of straight pipe section that the elbow connected. This paper analyzes relative design standards of pressure pipeline, and wall thickness equations and calculation procedures about pipes and elbows. Taking some gas pipeline as an example, wall thickness calculation of elbow is carried out, and a recommendation in calculation and determination of wall thickness of elbow based on final selected wall thickness of straight pipe section is proposed.
