Application of RMD Welding Technology in the Second West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Project

Characteristics of Controlled Current Short-circuiting technology CCCC) and Regulated Metal Deposi-tion (RMD) welding technology are introduced.Application and inspection results for CCC and RMD used in the Second West-to-East Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Project display that RMD welding technology is easy to use with stable process property, and mechanical performance of weld bead meets the needs of relative requirements.It is considered that this technology can be used in construction of domestic long-distance pipelines and is hopeful of becoming one of the mainstream technologies in welding field.
