Factor Analysis of Soil Corrosion of Buried Steel Gas Pipelines

  • Basic physical and chemical data of soil around buried gas pipeline is factor analyzed, and 9 check variables are reduced to 4 common factors. Research results show that different behaviors of soil have different importance to soil corrosion. It is considered that salt content, water content, natural corrosion potential, redox potential and soil resistivity should be selected as major checking factors, and pH value and stray current which generally being taken as main factors may not be considered when carrying out multi-factor evaluation.
