Analysis on Problems in Winter Operation of Sino-Kazakhstan Oil Pipeline

Problems in winter operation of this oil pipeline appear as unsteady set points with more pigged impurities, lower ground temperature along the pipeline route, which will result in oil sludge deposition and wax plugging. Effective approach considered is to operate at low throughput, change delivery way and connect bypass pipe, also blending transportation, PPD added, proper pigging procedure or booster station building up are suggested.
