Energy Saving Effect from Reducing Inlet Temperature of Oil Pipelines

  • Influencing factors on outlet temperature of hot oil pipeline is analyzed. It is pointed out that reducing outlet temperature of hot oil pipeline can save fuel oil, reducing total heat transfer coefficient can further reduce outlet temperature and raising frictional drag of pipeline can decrease consumption of fuel oil. Take Renqiu-Beijing Oil Pipeline as an example, analysis is carried out on energy consumption issues in throttling of slack flow pipeline. It is demonstrated for the feasibility that energy saving results may be obtained by reducing inlet temperature of hot oil pipelines.
