Mechanical Properties Analysis of Pipe Fractured in Zhongyuan Oilfield-Luoyang Petrochemical Plant Pipeline

  • A series of mechanical property tests were performed for the pipe from Zhongyuan Oilfield to Luoyang Petrochemical Plant Pipeline.Tensile tests show that the pipe material has a high yield limit and strength limit, but poor plasticity.These stress-strain curves do not have an obvious yield stage.Weld materials behave high brittleness.The pipe impact toughness is low with the maximum value of 50.30 J/cm2.The ductile-brittle transition temperature at weld materials is between 15 and 20℃, higher than normal.Furthermore, fracture and metallographic analysis of weld specimens exhibit clearly brittle features.
