Applying Carbon Fiber Composite System to Repair Corroded Pipe

  • The technology of carbon fiber composite material used for repair and its working principle arepresented in the paper.Aiming at the characteristics of high operation pressure and abnormal geometricfigure of the pipeline inside Shanshan Gas Transmission Station, finite element aided design method isintroduced into the repair program and its feasibility is demonstrated.Field repair results show that thecarbon fiber composite system can be in-line used to repair the corroded pipe without any welding, whicheffectively decrease the risk in common repair operation.
