Advantages of Variable-speed Pump in Oil Product Transportation

Characteristics of oil product pipeline transportation is analyzed, including the properties of operating parameters in flow rate, frictional drag and pump discharge head. Taking Chengdu-Chongqing pipeline section in Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing Oil Product Pipeline as an example, the authors present the function of the variable-speed pump and think that it can be worked to substitute governing valve, with the advantages of wide work scope in flow rate-discharge head and better suitability, and its rotary speed can be automatically changed based on set parameters and frictional drag of pipeline, which is more suitable for the pipeline system of oil product transportation.
