Analysis on Corrosion Failure of Oil Pipeline under Heat Shrinkable Sleeves
An analysis is carried out to a practical case of a pipeline rupture happened near spiral weld under field applied heat shrinkable sleeves. It is revealed during field excavation that there is no primer coating under the sleeves in accordance with design requirement and malfunction of the sleeves in long term high temperature environment caused water entering and severe localized corrosion.
