A Study on Calculation Methodology of Operation Resistance of Pipeline Cleaning Pig

Based on the analysis of deformation and stresses of elastic cleaning Pig,mathematic expressions of Pig’s operation resistance passing through the pipeline with circular cross section and tapered pipe are developed.To verify the calculation methodology,the measured and theoretical values for operation resistance are compared.The experimental results show that the calculation method can forecast the Pig’s operation resistance very well.
