Impact of Running Oil Pipeline's Overhaul on its Operation Parameters

  • When repair is carried out on pipelines with aging anticorrosive coatings, increasing coefficient of heat transmission will impact operation parameters of stations-intersite. For pipeline safety, studies are conducted to the impact of running oil pipeline's overhaul on operation parameters. According to the data of stable operation after pipeline excavation, the paper adopts a fractionation method to calculate the operation parameters of the repairing pipeline. Calculation results show that the temperature drop, pressure drop, heat loss and viscosity of stations-intersite will increase along with the increasing of the heat transfer coefficient of the opening section. When opening repair is carried out on pipelines, proper pipeline excavating lengths shall be determined according to the effect of pipeline excavating lengths on operation parameters and pipeline structure so as to ensure safety operation of pipeline overhaul.
