Thunder-proof and Overvoltage Protection of Instrument Monitoring System in Pump Station and Oil Tankfarm

The status quo and characteristics of thunder-proof and overvoltage protection facilities in pump stations and oil tankfarms are described. The defects existed in current thunder-proof and overvoltage protection facilities are analyzed. The authors present the comprehensive preventive guidelines suitable for the thunder-proof in power system, industrial buildings and all kinds of electric facilities in the paper. In the light of the characteristics of micro-electric facilities of instrument monitoring system applied in pump stations and oil tankfarms, the protection measures to be taken are given.
