Calculating Hydraulic Transient Flow of Long Distance Pipelines with Adaptive Grid Method

  • In the study, the adaptive grid method is first used to calculate the hydraulic transient flow of long distance pipelines. Through the uncoil partial differential equation, the grid is added by itself in big gradient. Calculations on an end section of a pipeline with adaptive grid method and characteristic line method are carried out. The calculation result indicates that with the adaptive grid method, the front position of water hammer more exactly can be obtained.
