Analysis on the Corrosion Mechanism of Qinghuangdao-Beijing Oil Pipeline and Corrosion Inspection

  • Analysis results display that the problems in soil corrosion, stress/fatigue corrosion, stray current corrosion and the corrosion from inhomogeneous pipe material are existed in Qinghuangdao-Beijing Oil Pipeline. Internal coating inspection and external coating inspection of the pipeline are made. The authors consider that the method for internal and external coating inspections should be used on the basis of combination according to the inspection and analysis/assessment results for the purpose of obtaining a comprehensive conclusion, which is helpful to eliminate pipeline operation hazards. Suggestions for technical reform of the pipeline networks are put forward meanwhile.
