Application of Soil-pressure Balanced/Mud Conveying Method in Push-pipe Construction

  • The article analyzes the merit and demerit of such three construction techniques in push-pipe construction as cutting-edge advance, mud advance and soil-pressure advance, and introduces soil-pressure balanced/mud conveying construction method. Practice proves that a hydraulic conveying system used in soil-pressure balanced push-pipe construction is helpful for reducing the time required for the empty dump truck into the tunnel and that full of dug soil out of the tunnel. It ensures continuous pushing and enhances construction efficiency.
