Analysis on Wet Natural Gas Transmission Technology of West-to-East Gas Transmission Pipeline

  • West-to-East Gas Transmission Pipeline was designed to deliver dry gas originally, and the pipeline would be supplied by several gas fields, in which, Kara 2 Gas Field was one of the gas suppliers. The pipeline began to deliver wet gas in June, 2005 due to an accident. From the viewpoint of technology and safety, the problems in gas components, phase of hydrocarbon dew point, forming condition of hydrate and water dew point are analyzed and studied in order to transport the gas with different mixing ratio from Kara 2 Gas Field. To prevent against hazards in wet gas transmission, safety measures are provided, including timely change the schedule and gas supply emergency program, frequently regulate gas components, cut down pigging interval, enhance the capacity of filter's separator, rise the temperature of fuel gas to compressors and the temperature of dry gas seal.
