Safety Issues and Countermeasures on Long Distance Gas Transmission Pipeline

In allusion to the characteristics of long distance gas transmission pipelines, the article introduces the failures and accidents, accident probability and that of influence to gas pipelines for different stations and pipelines. Some examples of typical pipeline accidents in China and Canada recent years are listed. Based on the accident analysis and taken the actual safety situation of domestic gas pipeline, the author presents countermeasures and suggestions in controlling pipeline failure and accident in facet of design, construction and operation of gas pipelines.
