Experimental Study on the Characteristics of XT Thick Oil Emulsion in the Pipeline

  • The experimental study is carried out on the XT thick oil emulsion using the Model Pipeline Test Apparatus (MPTA) and the polarizing microscope system. The emulsion is a kind of complicated W/OW multiple emulsion. When the emulsifier concentration reaches the level of 800 mg/L, both the viscosity-reducing effect and the stability of the emulsion are good. And the shearing flux plays an important role on the stability of the emulsion, that is, with the shearing flux rising, the stability of emulsion increases.
