Study on Operational Optimization of Batch Transportation with Floating Tank Process in Pipeline

  • The means by which several refined petroleum products are transported through a single pipeline is one of the fundamentals of long pipeline, and operational optimization of it is significant in engineering and theory. Operational optimization method of batch transportation with floating tank process is researched. The method of seeking the maximum throughput allowable subjected to the operational condition is proposed. In accordance with the principle of upstream regulation priority, the following step is adopted: at first finding out which pumps can be shut down, then apportioning the rest throttling pressure. The method put forward in the paper can be applied to the operational optimization of Golmud-Lhasa Pipeline with floating tank process.
