Determining the Total Heat Transfer Coefficient for Hot Oil Pipeline under the Condition of Low Throughput

  • Take the Yizheng-Jinling Oil Pipeline as an example, this article introduces the energy saving running for the hot oil pipeline under the condition of low throughput operation from 4 facets: (1) determination of critical condition of heater start-up; (2) determination of critical condition of heater shutdown; (3) calculation of optimized outlet oil temperature from Yizheng Station and (4) calculation of maximum safe shutdown time of the pipeline. The determination method of total heat transfer coefficient of this pipeline section is given on the basis of inversion calculation from the shutdown data of the pipeline.
