Calculation Method of Leakage Location for Multi-branch Oil Pipeline

  • This article describes the calculation method of leakage location for multi-branch oil pipeline. The locating principle of negative pressure wave method is that, the pipeline is divided into several sections taking the point of crossing of branch pipeline as a boundary to compute the velocity of pressure wave, then, locate the leakage. To support the method, oil discharge testing is made. The testing result shows that the detection sensitivity and location error for leaked oil meet the needs of actual operation of oil pipeline.
