An Extinguishing Method and its Effects by Gas and Heat Obstruction on the Surface in Oil Pool Fires

The article puts forward an extinguishing method by use of gas and heat obstruction on the surface in oil pools according to the control process of fire continuance and development. The developed extinguishing material possesses excellent properties of heat insulation and vapor seal, and the method shows satisfactory extinguishing effects on the oil surface on the basis of small-scale oil tanks.
