Preliminary Discussion of Rich Gas Transmission

  • Rich gas transmission is defined that the component of natural gas such as methane, ethane, butane and pentane (heavy-hydrocarbon, the major component of NGL) are kept in natural gas and transmitted after dehydrating and desulfurizing by single-phase of gaseity. This article analyzes the technology of rich gas transmission, phase characteristics, its advantages and disadvantages. The authors consider that the foreign technology in the transmission of dense phase of natural gas should be taken as an important reference to develop this technique in China, and carry out a deep study on the pipeline design, transmission technology and dynamic monitor for pipeline operation for rich gas transmission of natural gas in order to increase the gas transmission productivity.
