Characteristic Analysis on Huaihe River Pipeline Crossing by Horizontal Directional Drilling Technology

This paper describes utilizing the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technology to cross Huaihe River for Zhumadian-Xinyang Gas Pipeline. The geological condition and allocation of drilling equipment are introduced. The design factors in angle of arrival, angle of outlet, curvature radius and depth of drilling are determined. The stressed property of pilot drilling, reaming and pull-back and calculation method are analyzed. The relevant solution to technical issues is presented.
