Oil Pipeline Pigging for Transmitting Natural Gas

  • A pipeline transporting oil starting from 4 - 1 metering station to #1 oil complex station is 12 km in total length with OD 219 and design pressure of 4 MPa in Tract 4/6 of Xinjiang Tahe Oilfield. To accommodate the oil production to the oilfield, this pipeline will be reformed to transmit gas. The pigging scenario including oil displacement, compressed air purging, cleaning with cleaning agent and pipe drying is worked out. The article describes the whole pipeline pigging process.
