The Research of Heat Transfer Problem in Process of Batch Transportation of Cool and Hot OiI

  • To guarantee the quality of refined products, different kinds of oil should be transported and stored respectively. Batch transportation is an ideal means of pipelining imported oil and domestic oil. Now it is a common practice to pipeline domestic waxy oil by means of heating. But for the imported oil with the good flowability, it can usually be pipelined at ambient temperature. Therefore pipelining imported and domestic oil is a problem of batch transportation of cool and hot oil. A mathematic model for solving this transient thermal and hydrodynamic problem in the process of batch transportation of cool and hot oil is established, and a calculation software is also developed. As an example, the process of batch transportation of Russian oil and Daqing oil in TieQin Pipeline is simulated by the calculation software. The calculation results show that during batch transportation of cool oil and hot oil, the oil temperature at the entrance of the next station has the periodical change trend after the number of transportation circle reaches a special value. The parameters of oil thermophysical properties, pipeline and environment have significant effects on calculation results, so these parameters should be chosen carefully. When hot oil follows cool oil in process of batch transportation, the temperature drops fastest. Therefore, the key to ensuring batch transportation safety is to control hot oil temperature at entrance of the next station in transportation circulations.
