The Application of Cathodic Protection System in Tankfarm and Pipeline

An experiment on the regional cathodic protection system is made in Yizheng Pumping Station on the basis of two methods, the impressed current protection with vertical deep-well anode to tankfarm and shallow buried anode protection to tank. The protective results of the two methods are compared. The experiment results show that the both methods can provide an effective protection to the subsurface of bottom plate of oil tank, while the protection potential of vertical deep-well anode method is more uniform. The suggestion on the protective measures of built or newly-built oil tanks is proposed.
