Abstract
A simulation method aimed at examining the pump-shear effects on PPD-beneficiated crude oils at dif-ferent temperatures in laboratory, which pays equal attention to the practical key oil temperatures and the rheological key ones, is introduced in this paper. The three sets of experiments at three pumping tempera-tures are done on Maling PPD-beneficiated crude oil using pump-shear simulation equipment in laboratory and the results are identical to the measurements in field. A rheological explan ation to the results is provid-ed and some significant conclusions are drawn. Also, a set of experiments aimed at comparing the shear effects using simulation mini-pump with those using high-speed mixer is conducted and the conclusion that the grid-pattern mixer cannot be used for pump-shear simulation is drawn. Some suggestions are brought forward for PPD-applied transportation technology applied to MaHui Oil Pipeline in the paper.
