Study on the Welding Procedure of Heavy Thickness Pipe for Pump Station of Sudan Oil Pipeline

  • The welding of heavy thickness pipe for pump station pipeline is a very complicated and technical item. The analysis of welding technology is made on heavy thickness pipe (A 106C steel, 610 mm in diameter and 40 mm in thickness) used in the pump stations of Sudan Oil Pipeline. The preheating temperature, type of combined bevel of pipe and welding process are determined based on the analytical results. The evaluation on the welding process is carried out on the basis of API 1104. Some suggestions on the welding procedure are put forward.
