The Relationship between Thixotropy and Temperature of Waxy Crude

Abstract
The thixotropy of Zhongyuan pour point depressed (PPD) beneficiated crude oil is studied at different temperatures around the gel point. The Houska's model is applied to describe cr ude's thixotropy and the calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data. Analysis re sults show that the relationship between parameters τy0, τy1, K, ΔK and n in Hous ka's model and temperature conforms to exponential equation, and the other parame ters a, b and m are irrelevant with temperature. The relationship between paramet ers in Houska's model and temperature can be used to analyze the hydrodynamic c ases of hot oil pipelines in restarting after shutting-down.
