Stress Corrosion Cracking of Pipeline Steel Welded Joints and Controlling

  • The inhomogeneity of the structure and capacity of the welded joints is caused by welding. This paper studies the regularity of the stress corrosion cracking of the welded joints. The conclusions are as follows. (1) the stress corrosion susceptibility of the weld beads is higher than the base-metals; (2) the wider the hard layer of the welded joints, the higher the stress corrosion susceptibility of the weld beans; (3) the higher the temperature, the wider the potential range of the materials; (4) putting the just alloy elements into the weld beans can improve the resistance of SCC and (5) it is important to improve the condition of the medium.
