The Real-time Measurement of Fluid Rheology with an Annular Flow Simulator

  • This paper makes a description of real-time measurement of the rheological properties of fluid with an annular flow simulator. The fluid in the annular pipe will flow oppositely caused by the gravity and friction of the wall when the devica turns.A pressure and temperature sensors are installed on the wall of annular pipe to measure the level difference between the two sides of liquid and its temperature.Combining those with the velocity of the annular pipe turning, the rheological properties of fluid in the pipe can be measured in real-time.This device is designed for the simulation of pipe flow and real-time measurement with different shear rate, which mainly concerns about the non-Newtonian fluid flow during the pipeline transportation.
