Cause Analysis on Packing Seal Failure of Centrifugal Pump and New Candidate's Selection

Based on the cause analysis of packing seal failure of centrifugal pump, an improvement measures with helical packing of engineering plastics to substitute the packing seal is presented. This kind of helical packing of engineering plastics is verified that it is available to use in doubl e-suction pump from the design principle, CAD simulation system analysis and improvement of seal structure. This helical packing is characterized by practical and easy to displace.
