Countermeasures against Pipeline Corrosion Induced by DC Stray Electrical Current

  • An analysis is made on pipeline leak in a crossing buried pipeline in Jinzhou Di strict of Dalian City. The analytical results show that DC stray electrical curr ent results in corrosion of the buried pipeline. A program to control the corros ion is made, that is, the coating structure of pipeline and the layout of curre nt drainage facilities should be modified based on the different corrosion condi tions, which can effectively control the corrosion of DC stray electrical current to the pipeline.
