Abstract
The frictional pressure drop of oil-water two-phase flow in a horizontal steel pipe and in a Plexiglas pipe is compared and investigated.Measurements are made for superficial velocity of water varying from 0.6 to 2.4m/s and input water volume fraction from 18% to 100%.It is found that water volume fractioninfluences the frictional pressure drop greatly, and under the same conditions, the frictional pressure drop in the Plexiglas pipe is greater than that in the steel pipe during small water volume fraction. With water volume fraction increasing, the latter is greater than the former. It indicates that the wettability character-istics of the pipe materials are also responsible for this disparity besides the wall roughness.
