Cable-held Pipeline Bridge-A New-type Long-span Structure for Long Distance Pipeline Crossing

  • This paper reviews the advantages and disadvantages of two commonly-used structures of long-span pipeline bridges, that is cable-stayed pipeline bridge and suspension pipeline bridge, introduces the source and application of a new type of crossing structure——cable-held structure, analyzes the working principle, mechanics model, mechanical properties, major advantages and existed problems of the cable-held pipeline bridge.The profile of the crossing structure resembles the cable-stayed pipeline bridge, while the mechanical properties are somewhat similar to those of the suspension pipeline bridge.The pipeline bridge pools advantages and rejects deficiencies of the cable-stayed and suspension pipeline bridge.It will greatly improve the efficiency of the cable, save materials, costs of engineering and make the construction very easy.
