The Study on the Flow Behavior of Waxy Crude Oil at Section 4 Vacuum Pressure Equipment

  • The rheological behavior and viscosity-temperature characteristics of waxy crude oil at Section 4 Vacuum Pressure Equipment are analyzed and measured in the lst Refinery of Fushun. The RV2 rotational viscometer is used to measure the flow behavior parameters for the oil at 61~70℃. The measured results indicate that when the oil temperature is higher than 70℃, the waxy oil is Newtonian fluid, when it is lower than 70℃, the waxy oil is non-Newtonian fluid, and the lower the oil temperature is, the stronger the non-Newtonian fluid behavior of the oil becomes. Although the viscosity-temperature characteristics of the waxy crude oil is similar to crude oil in the viscosity-temperature curves that can be divided into radial and beeline types, its non-Newtonian behavior is stronger than that of crude oil.
