The Gouge Experiment and Study on the External Coating of Buried Steel Pipeline

  • The gouge test of external coating of buried steel pipeline is an important factor to determine its application condition and site workability. On the basis of study on the gouge experimental equipments for external coating of steel pipeline, a test method that can distinctly evaluate the gouge behavior of coating is established. A gouge comparison between the same materials and different materials is made. Based on the gouge test results, the raw materials and anti-corrosion process with perfect anti-mechanical damage are selected, which increases the safety factors for the pipeline construction and decreases the damage rate of pipeline coating and repair.
