The Study on the Mechanism of Drag Reduction by Polymer Additives

The paper reviews the development and application of polymeric drag additives. All researches on the mechanism of polymeric drag reduction are divided into three directions by different manners. The research actualities of mechanism of polymeric drag reduction is evaluated by the authors. Although the significant achievements have been made in the study and application of polymeric drag additives, the lot of work should be done to solve some problems existed in the research and application of polymeric drag additives.
