Abstract
The problem of petroleum (gasoline) evaporation loss (PEL) is a much important research topic in oil storage & transportation and environmental protection as well at home and abroard. As an effective measures to reduce PEL.the technology of adsorption recovery to gasoline vapor represents a main orientation in present research work. As an effective adsorbent, activated carbon was first selected to investigate and study on its kinetics property of adsorbing gasoline vapor. The result showed that activated carbon adsorp-tivity decreases with the rise in adsorption operation temperature and in circulation adsorption and that fresh activated carbon adsorptivity is up to 0.34 at 20℃ and to 0.30 at 30℃. The result also showed that adsorption speed of activated carbon to gasoline vapor is quick and adsorption saturation time is about 40 min and that differential pressure of adsorption tower is low and usually between 0.10~0.19 Pa/cm and a total average value of 0.142 Pa/cm.
