Fatigue Life Assessment of Oil Pipeline

  • Because of quality problem of line pipe, twelve fracture accidents have occured during hydraulic pressure on spot on a newly built 273×6 mm oil pipeline. Safety assessment work must be done urgently. In this paper, using failure analysis diagram(FAD) and two-parameter method, fatigue life of this pipeline is assessed on the base of strength assessment of pipeline. The assessment result indicates that the safety operating circle of the pipeline is 13000, which can provide scientific basis for calculation of checking and maintaining cycle.
