Analysis on Thermal Energy Consumption of Tank Farms and Control Measures

  • According to an investigation, the thermal energy consumed in oil tank farms take up 1/3-1/2 of thermal erergy consumption in domestic refineries. To reduce the thermal energy consumption, some measures against it are proposed. It is pointed out that a correct approach to the energy saving is to determine a reasonable storage temperature of oil and select available heating methods / facilities as well as install insulating layer to the tank top. The results of energy saving obtained from these measures are indicated with case.
