The Application of SPOT Image Data in Pipeline Route Engineering

  • With the construction of new oil/gas long distance pipelines. SPOT image data technology becomes more and more important in the survey and finalization of pipeline route. This technology can provide basic geographical and engineering environment information for pipeline company, which can increase the accuracy and progression of survey and finalization of pipeline route engineering with lower error and cost saving. Three examples with this technoloy in pipeline route selection in Jingbian-Shanghai, Yangzi River crossing of West-east pipeline project and Zhongxian-Wuhan gas transmission pipeline are presented.
