A Study on the Flow Pattern Transitions from Intermittent Flow to Annular Flow in Horizontal and Inclined Pipes

  • This paper studied the flow pattern transitions from intermittent flow to annular flow in horizontal and inclined pipes experimentally and theoretically. According to the phenomena observed in the experiment, a new mechanism was proposed to explain the formation of annular flow and a new physical model was given simultaneously based on the mechanism. The theoretical results agreed with experimental data very well and compared with the results of others.
