Development and Application of CNPC No. 9A PPD for Sudanese Crude Oil

Sudanese crude oil is a kind of highly-waxy crude oil. To meet the needs of pipelinings PPD named CNPC No. 9A that consists of ethylene-vinyl acetate as a key component, PAE and gel modifier as auxiliary components has been developed. The comparison and evaluation tests on the domestic and abroad PPDs have been made. The test results have shown that the performance of CNPC No. 9A PPD is the best in the PPDs to be tested. Together with Champion WM1310 PPD, the CNPC No.9A now have been selected by GNPOC as a PPD of Sudanese crude oil and successfully applied in the oil pipelining.
